FDB Møbler at The Danish Summerhouse

Last year, we invested in a new table and chairs for the living space from the Danish manufacturer FDB Møbler. The table is the classic C35B, oak with a black linoleum top designed by Poul M. Volther in 1954. Alongside are four J46 spoke-back chairs, also designed by Volther in 1956.

FBD Møbler (Fællesforeningen for Danmarks Brugsforeninger) was a subsidiary of the Danish national cooperative association for consumer goods producers. Established in 1942, Architect and designer Børge Mogensen initially headed up the studio as design director, then handed the role to Volther in 1959.

All the wood products are FSC certified, and textiles have Oeko-Tex labelling. FDB has also committed to ensuring all furniture they produce will have the Nordic Swan environmental certification by 2025.

The furniture is beautiful and practical, with a timeless design that gives us a happy feeling every time we walk through the front door .🪑
